The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru, has appealed to Nigerians to continue offering prayers for the resolution of the ongoing security issues in the country.
Badaru made this request during a meeting with a delegation from Jigawa, led by Governor Malam Umar Namadi, in Abuja on Thursday.
Considering the multifaceted nature of the security challenges and various aspects of national development, Badaru emphasized the importance of seeking divine intervention through prayers.
He acknowledged the enormity of their task but expressed their determination to overcome these challenges.
Badaru further urged all Nigerians to extend their support, including their prayers, to help establish peace and stability in the country.
He stressed the collective responsibility in achieving these goals.
Governor Namadi, during the visit, congratulated the minister and assured him of the continuous support of traditional rulers, religious leaders, the business community, and public office holders from Jigawa.
He emphasized that their visit was not only to extend congratulations but also to offer prayers for his success in his new role as the Minister of Defence.
Namadi reminded the minister of the high expectations Nigerians have for addressing insecurity in the country, highlighting the pivotal role it plays in overall national well-being.
He expressed gratitude for the peaceful situation in Jigawa and requested the minister’s assistance to help other states in need.
