Davido, Osun gov-elect, Adeleke, others bag Afro awards 2022
The Governor-Elect of Osun State, Sen. Ademola Jackson-Adeleke, the popular Nigerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, professionally known as Davido and the Legendary African Drummer, Chief Tajudeen Amoo-Adeleke, are among African and American persons who would be honoured at the Afro Award in Los Angeles, California.
The Founder and Executive Producer of The Afro Awards, Mr Taiwo Oduala, has made this revelation in a statement.
Others who’re to be honoured are Mrs Fatima Maada, the First Lady of Sierra Leone, (Founder & CEO of Pan African Film Festival, Ayuko Babu and a popular Nigerian Journalist, Seye Kehinde.
He also revealed that those awarded are among African and American people, who have excelled in various chosen careers.
The Afro Awards 2022, the much expected event of the year, is scheduled to be announced live on Sunday, November 6 at Regal La Live 1000 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90015, USA.
“The main focus of the award is to support people who have demonstrated exceptional humanitarian excellence in various fields, ” he said.
He said since long moment ago, the eventful Awards programme has welcomed and honored over 5,000 persons at the core front of philanthropy and humanitarianism in communities of America and Africa.
Oduala, a film director released the names of some of the 2022 awardees to include; Masika Kalysha (VH1’s Love & Hip Hop; Curtis Young (Son of Dr Dre), We TV’s Growing Up Hip Hop),
Others are Hubert Nakitare (Hip Hop Artist and Activist), Tina Weisinger (Founder of HAPAwards), His Royal Majesty Oba Yisa Olusola Olaniyan (Humanitarian and Founder of AHBEAH Awards), Lea Cher Pump (Owner of The LadyLike Foundation).
The director revealed that resumption of Red carpets commenced by 5:00pm with the main programme at 7:00pm and an after party session at 10:00pm.
He revealed that the host for this 2022 scenario is VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Star Masika Kalysha.
