Crowning moment for Messi as Argentina wins 2022 world cup

It was a crowning moment for Lionel Messi and Argentina on Sunday as they clinched the FIFA World Cup in a classic and six goal thriller final game.

After playing out 3-3 draws through the regulation and extra time, Argentina would eventually have their day crowned by winning 4-2 on penalties.

The Albicelestes had to endure a stormy moment after losing their two goal led to the french team in the dying minutes of regulation time.

While Messi opened the scoreline in the 23rd minutes from the spot and Di Maria doubled the lead for the Argentines in the 36th minutes as they headed into the half time with the edge.

When it appeared that the Argentines were getting close to the trophy, the tide changed when Mbappe halved the deficits from the spot in the 80th and fired a perfect strike home a minute later to take the game to the extra time.

Yet,the extra time had its own share of the history,While Messi netted a rebounds in the 109th minute, Kylian Mbappe again found the end back of the net from the spot to complete an historic hat trick.

Straight to the spot kick, Martinez once again showed class to inspire the Argentines to a glorious end with another heroic performance.

While he would save Coman’s penalty, Touchameni fired his own penalty out of the goal to set a podium finish for the Albicelestes who all scored their kicks.

Argentina have now on the mundial for the third time- first in 1978, second one in 1986 and now 2022.
