COVID-19: Sokoto, Abia, Gombe record first cases, Kano 23 as Nigeria’s total rises.
• Lagos records no case
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday confirmed that 38 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in eight states. These are Kano, Kaduna, Federal Capital Territory (Abuja), Gombe, Abi, Sokoto, Ekiti and Borno states as Nigeria’s tally rose to 665.
Three states; Gombe, Abia and Sokoto recorded their first cases of the pandemic on Monday.
Compare to the 86 reported on Sunday, there was a drop in daily figures reported on Monday.
Lagos state did not record any case for the first time since the outbreak began although remains the epicenter of the outbreak in Nigeria.
According to the breakdown by the NCDC; 23 of the new cases were recorded in Kano, 5 in Gombe, 3 in Kaduna, 2 in Borno and Abia while FCT, Sokoto and Ekiti has 1 case.
NCDC disclosed that out of 665 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria, 188 infected people have been discharged while death toll rose to 22.
