COVID-19: Saraki urges support for govt, directs distribution of “relief items”

Ex-Senate President of Nigeria, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Sunday, urged Nigerians to support government at all levels in their efforts to curb the transmission of the novel coronavirus.

He made the call in a series of tweet on his verified twitter page.

Saraki tweeted, “At this point when physical distancing, self isolation, holistic sanitation and hygiene, alongside other keeping safe measures are recommended by experts as means of controlling the spread of the #COVID19 pandemic, I urge our people to co-operate with the govt and adhere to the public health instructions aimed at protecting, tracing and treating the populace.

“We should lock away this virus instead of allowing it to permanently lock down our society, health and development.”

He also revraled he’s directed the distribution of relief items to the 16 local government of his home state, Kwara.

“@absfoundation has made arrangements for various items to be distributed in all 16 LGAs to help cushion the effect of the #stayathome” and #livesafely. I have also informed the team, to adopt a distribution method that will take into consideration #SocialDistancing,” Saraki added.
