COVID-19: Kwarans call for Ali-Agan’s arrest
Calls for the arrest of the an Islamic cleric, Abubakr Ali-Agan has been trending on on social media, since the news of his Friday Jummat service broke.
Ali-Agan, who is also a lecturer at the University of Ilorin held a congregation prayer saying, during his sermon, that nobody can order the shut down of mosque.
He also applauded the congregation for having faith by believing that the COVID-19 cannot spread in mosques and coming out en-mass to pray, saying “people die everyday either by coronavirus or other ways”.
This happened despite the orders of the Kwara State Government restricting the number of persons in any gathering to 10 and ban on congregation religious service as part of partial lockdown to curb the community transmission of the novel coronavirus.
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari had likewise suspended the holding of weekly Friday prayers in mosques in Ilorin.
According to statistics from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, as of Sunday, 29th March, there are 111 cases of the virus in Nigeria.
Below are some of the “undited” comments on THE INFORMANT247 verified Facebook page;

We are so disappointed in him despite his tittle. Hasn’t he come across with this legal opinion ” Abuu Ubaidah assumed the rule of A-sham, and he died with the plague, then Muath took over after him and died in the plague, when Amr bin Al-Aas took over, he addressed the people, saying: O people, the plague is like a flaming fire and you are its fuel affliction,so disperse and incense until the fire did not find anything that ignited it and extinguish alone. When they obeyed and responded, they all survived, and God raised the scourge ”
Abdulsalam Abdulganiyu:
Aligan need to be arrested and change to court
