COVID-19: Kwara govt seals daycare centre for flouting closure order

The Kwara State Government has sealed off a daycare centre for flouting the government closure directives as a result of COVID-19 pandemic to ensure the safety of pupils.

The State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Ahmed Fatimah Bisola order the closure of the centre during an inspection visit to schools on Wednesday.

Ahmed after dispersing the pupils at the centre also ordered the Quality Assurance Bureau of the Ministry to ensure the immediate closure of the centre.

The affected centre was however not disclosed, but said to be located at Alore in Ilorin.

She stated, “Our children cannot be kept in this unsafe condition under the guise of daycare or creche centre. There are certain facilities you need to put in place before you can be duly registered to run a centre like this; especially, during this global pandemic.”
