COVID-19: Kwara adopts e-learning to counter lockdown
The Kwara State Ministry of Education has adopted the use of Electronic Mass Media for teaching of secondary school students in the state amid the partial lockdown order by the state government.
In a bid to curb the community transmission of the novel coronavirus disease, the state government had announced the closure of all schools.
The governor’s spokesperson, Rafiu Ajakaye while annoucing the shutting down said that “it is part of the efforts to contain the global spread of the COVID-19 pandemic”.
However, in a swift development, the State Education Ministry, on Tuesday, announced it had adopted Electronic Learning and further reeled out timetable for subjects to be offered.
According to information obtained by THE INFORMANT247, the media lesson will be available to learner’s on all state-owned broadcasting firm including Sobi FM and Igboho FM.
Subjects to be taught include; Mathematics, English Language, Economics, Physics, Literature-in-English, Biology.
Others are; Yoruba, Civic Education, Government, Chemistry.
