Court remands driver over alleged murder in Kwara

An Ilorin magistrate court, on Friday, remanded a 43-year-old man, Olawale Adisa, at the state correctional centre over alleged murder of one Suraju Popoola, a member of Balogun descendant family in Offa, Kwara State.

Police investigation also unveiled the shallow grave where the deceased was secretly buried by his assailant.

Popoola was also reported to have revealed other persons who allegedly took part in the gruesome killing of the deceased.

However, the prosecutor, Yusuf Nasir, in his submission prayed the court to remand the suspect in the correctional centre on the basis that the offenses allegedly committed are capital in nature and not ordinarily bailable.

Magistrate Muhammed Ibrahim, who presided over the matter, ordered the remand of the suspect in the state Criminal Investigative Department (CID) pending the time police investigation over the matter is completed.
