Court remands 3 for allegedly stealing car spare parts in Ilorin
Three suspected burglars have been remanded in Oke-Kura Correctional Centre, Ilorin, by Magistrate Ibrahim Dasuki of an Ilorin Magistrates’ Court over alleged stealing of car parts worth N2 million.
The suspects, Wasiu Dauda, Qowiyu Kareem and David Bello, allegedly stole car parts valued at N2 million at pipeline Area, Ilorin.
Earlier, the Prosecuting Counsel, Insp. Zacheaus Folorunsho, told the court that the trio allegedly carried out the act in connivance with their cohorts who are at large.
Folorunsho said that the defendants burgled the complainant’s workshop and made away with car engines, AC Compressor, Power Steering and Air Conditioner.
He said that the investigation revealed that the trio are notorious criminals who specialised in breaking into people’s houses and mechanic workshops to steal car spare parts and other household appliances.
He said that the investigation is ongoing and urged the court to remand them in custody pending the completion of the investigation.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
The magistrate adjourned the case till Nov.22, for further mention.
