…It is just for a start – Ajuloopin.
SOME contituent members have kicked against the establishment of a federal college of education in Omu-Aran, Kwara state.
The honourable representing Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Eke-ero federal constituency has seeked the establishment of a Federal College of Education to be located in Omu Aran. This he said is aimed at filling the wide gap in the concentration of educational institutions.
However, some contituent members have protested against this claiming the local government already has a college of education and the honourable should rather focus other communities in his district.
In a comment by a Peoples Democratic Party aspirant for the Ekiti at the state House of Assembly, Comrade Adio Odunjo, he maintained that the the bill is a good step in a wrong direction seeking a review.
“Where Ajuloopin got it wrong is not consulting with his people which is very key. If he does that all these rancor will not have happened. We cannot Continue to wallow in sin and expect grace to abound, My candid advice to our dear Rep, Hon. Raheem Tunji Olawuyi should go back to his Constituency for consultation and this issue will be laid to rest.”
“All hands must be on Deck as this establishment of Federal College of Education will further attract more goodies to igbomina-Ekiti land if it come to pass. Ajulo should as a matter of necessity reach out to all stakeholders for all inclusiveness.”
However, reacting to this the honourable in a chat with THE INFORMANT247 correspondent said he is not distracted by the comments and urge people to be calm as the opportunity will circulate.
“I am not distracted by what people are saying, it’s not about the location but the development. Omu-Aran being the largest community is just a start, others will follow suit.”
In the same vein, Mr. Adeleke Adeyemi Elder lauded the honourable maintaining the bill is a welcome development irrespective of the location.
“It’s fundamental and pertinent to note that development is at its lowest ebb in Kwara state over 16 years and it’s a welcome idea to see Honourable Ajuloopin putting efforts together to sponsor a bill to establish a federal college in Omun Aran.
The reaction of some elements in the society discrediting the location of the college got me rattled because I perceived them to be enemies of progress. Omun Aran is one of the largest towns in Kwara which lack federal government presence when it comes to such huge project edifice.”
He continued, “So therefore it not out of place if the said bill get through and put Igbomina land in is rightful place of development.”
Elder further reiterate, “I put it to some Marauders fighting the location of the bill to be in Oro and equally make the existing state college scrapped and renamed. It’s so myopic to limit development of the federal constituency to a town in the name of self interests. If the bill scale through it will open up Kwara south from that axis to Nigeria and the world. Livelihood will be easier for people cut across the constituency.
I only want to appreciate the unflinching zeal of Hon. Ajuloopin for taking such huge step to make life better for his constituents. Be that as it may I want to admonish him to fast track his plans that focuses on other towns and villages in the federal constituency.”
“This kind of bill is new to the federal constituency and I believe he still have more to offer his constituents in the course making better law in the green chamber.”
