Community outreach: ANAN supports local traders, needy patients in Kwara
The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), a professional body dedicated to upholding the highest standards in accounting and finance, has taken a significant step in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.
On the 14th of October, 2023, members of the ANAN Kwara State Chapter came together to make a positive impact on their community through a series of initiatives.
This nationwide community outreach program took place simultaneously across Nigeria, demonstrating ANAN’s commitment to community growth and well-being.
In Kwara State, ANAN embarked on various activities to support and uplift the community.
ANAN Kwara State chapter, led by its Chairman Alh Bayo Shehu, generously provided grants to petty traders.
According to Bayo Shehu, the financial boost is aimed at improving local businesses and empower entrepreneurs within the community.
In addition to supporting small businesses, Kwara ANAN members extended their kindness to the physically challenged individuals in the community.
The professional group visited these individuals, providing not only moral support but also essential items such as food and cash.
Reacting to the gesture, one of the beneficiaries appreciated ANAN, stating that this act of compassion not only brightened their lives but also emphasized the value ANAN places on social inclusion.
One of the noteworthy stops during this community-focused day was the Kwara State General Hospital.
ANAN’s team took it upon themselves to aid patients who were facing financial challenges related to their healthcare needs.
They especially sought to assist individuals in vulnerable situations, including motherless babies and emergency patients whose relatives couldn’t be located.
Notable attendees at this impactful event included Alh Bayo Shehu, the Chairman of the Association, and Deacon Moses Ishola Abiodun, the immediate past Chairman. Mr. J Agbebi, Mr. Alasi Mukaila, Hajia Remi R. Sulyman, former Auditor General of LG Kwara State, Mrs. Rasheeda Abdulkadir, Mrs. Ganiya Yusuf, and Mrs. Sherifat Olookoba, among others, actively participated in the program.
