Commissioner visits KWEPA office, urges staff to intensify efforts of cleaner Kwara
Hon. Nafisat Musa Buge, the Kwara State Commissioner for Environment, has urged the management and staff of the State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) to intensify their efforts at ensuring proper waste management and compliance with environmental protection rules and regulations.
According to a statement by Aliyu Jamiu Amode, the press secretary of the KWEPA, the Commissioner made this known during a working visit to the Agency,
The commissioner also lauded the efforts of the management and staff of the agency in protecting the environment while urging them to sustain the tempo, adding that sustainability was even more tasking than the good feat they had achieved in the year under review.

She said, “What we started in 2024 was seen everywhere. However, sustainability is the key to what we have achieved. You have done well, but there is a need to improve and even do better to achieve our various mandates. Ethical practices must be our watchwords. We must discharge our responsibilities without waiting for anyone to push us to do them.”
“This is a teamwork. The Ministry of Environment and KWEPA are the only two bodies saddled with the responsibility of ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all Kwarans,” she added.
The Commissioner assured KWEPA of the State government’s continued support, which had enabled KWEPA to carry out its duties.
In her remarks, the Acting General Manager of the Agency, Hajia Idayat Folohunsho, appreciated the State government for its constant support to the Agency, adding it is ready to up its task of ensuring a cleaner environment through support from the State government.
