COEASU threatens to go on nationwide strike if FG fails on agreement The Informant247

COEASU suspends academic activities in Adeyemi College of Education

The Informant247 reports that academic activities have been paralyzed at the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, ACE.

This came following the four weeks warning industrial action the National leadership of the College of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU, embarked on.

At the expiration of the 21-day ultimatum, the union has threatened the government that another warning strike was imminent, if the government could not meet their demands.

The Chairman and Secretary of the union, Adetokunboh Adepoju and Joel Edafe, respectively had via a signed statement confessed that the union would not resume academic services until all contending issues are resolved by the government.

The union’s leadership reportedly highlighted that the government’s failure to address the concerns made by the Colleges of Education lecturers demonstrated the insensitivity of the administration to matters involving the development of the country’s teacher education sector.

The union said that “in the light of the foregoing, our chapter will not resume academic activities until all national and local issues are resolved.”
