Charles III takes oaths, becomes monarch
Charles III has taken an oath as he becomes king during an elaborate ceremony at St James’ Palace, London on Saturday.
The passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II has been formally announced by the Accession Council.
The announcement of Charles III as new monarch came following the passing of his mother.
About 200 persons gathered in the room all then said ‘God save the King’ before documents were signed.
Recall that yesterday, the King pledged to follow his “darling mama’s” life of service in his first address to the nation.
