CDCFIB extends recruitment exercise by one week
Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced that the ongoing recruitment into the paramilitary service has been extended by one week.
The board, in a statement by its secretary Maj. Gen (Rtd) A M Jibril, said the extention was geared towards providing additional opportunity for applicants willing to be enlisted into any of the Paramilitary Services as well as the Board.
The statement reads in oart, “The Board wishes to notify the general public that the closing date for application for its ongoing recruitment exercise has been extended by one (1) week.
“The recruitment portal, which was initially set to close on Monday 4th August, 2025, will now remain open until Monday, 11th August, 2025.
“Applicants are hereby reminded that the authentic portal address remains htpps://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng
“The Board wishes to reiterate that its recruitment process is free of charge as well as remains committed to ensuring a fair and transparent process,” the statement concluded
The Informant247 reports that Board had, in its earlier announcement, said the recruitment had been temporarily suspended its recruitment exercise due to widespread technical glitches affecting the application portal.
The recruitment portal, which was launched on July 14, encountered numerous issues just two days later, including repeated login errors, failed submissions, and navigation difficulties.
AM Jubril, Secretary to the Board, stated, “The suspension is necessary to allow for urgent system upgrades and to ensure the recruitment process is conducted in a fair, transparent, and accessible manner.”
The decision to shut down the portal was made in response to a surge of complaints from frustrated applicants flooding social media with reports of their struggles.
Many applicants reported being kicked back to the homepage after entering their National Identification Number (NIN), with one user sharing, “I’ve been on the site since 3:30 am, but once I input my NIN, it says Error 405 and kicks me back to the beginning.”
In light of these technical setbacks, the board confirmed that the portal is set to reopen on Monday, July 21, following necessary adjustments.
This marks the third public notice from the CDCFIB since the recruitment process began, emphasizing its commitment to improving the applicant experience.
Despite the challenges, the board remains dedicated to providing all qualified Nigerians an equal opportunity to serve in the paramilitary services, urging applicants to stay patient as they work towards resolving the issues.
