CBN Gov. Emefiele bows to pressure, extends deadline for old Naira notes
The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has announced an extension of the deadline for the acceptance of the old naira notes as legal tender.
The apex bank extended the deadline by 10 days.
The announcement of the new deadline was made by the governor of the apex bank, Godwin Emefiele, on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
In a statement released by the Governor, the new deadline is February 10, 2023.
