Cattle rustlers attack Kwara community, injure one, cart away 15 cows

Three unidentified cattle rustlers, on Thursday, attacked a community in Kwara South Senatorial District, injured one and went away with 15 cows.

A Fulani cattle rearer, Muhammadu Bello, on Wednesday narrowly escaped death during the invasion, sustaining serious multiple machete cuts inflicted on him by the cattle rustlers.

DAILY POST reports that the incident occurred at Ahun Ruga Settlement, Oro-Ago in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The Spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State, Babawale Afolabi, confirmed the development.

Afolabi said, ” the badly injured and unconscious cattle rearer, was brought to our Oro Ago Divisional Office, by Miyetti Allah Vigilante group, on Wednesday.

“He was attacked by cattle rustlers who later went away with 15 of his cows.”

The spokesman confirmed that the injured cattle rearer has been taken to the hospital for proper medical treatment, adding that operatives of the defence corps, Miyetti Allah Vigilante and local hunters have launched a manhunt for the cattle rustlers.
