Justice Ariwoola has ever since taken over from him in an acting capacity.
Justice Ariwoola has taken the oath of office, Wednesday in a brief event at the Council Chambers in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
In attendance were the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, federal ministers, other justices of the apex judicial organ (Supreme Court), the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde and the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu.
The former president, Goodluck Jonathan appointed Olukayode as a Justice of the Supreme Court on November 22, 2011.
The CJN in a media chat appealed to political actors and office holders in Nigeria to give the judiciary the chance to function optimally as the 2023 elections move closer, and promised to make reforms to the apex court of the land.
