Buhari sacks NSITF boss, Michael Akabogu over alleged forgery of certificate
The federal government has dismissed the Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Michael Akabogu.
This came following an allegation of forgery of his National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge Certificate.
A source at the NSITF revealed that he’s ordered to step aside till the conclusion of police investigations.
“Yes, he has been asked to step aside,” an official of the fund, who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent.
Attempts to reach the spokesperson for the NSITF, Mrs Ijeoma Oji-Okoronkwo were not successful as her communication device could have been “Switched off”.
It was gathered that the police invited the embattled NSITF boss, with the discharge certificate number: A030544, following a criminal complaint levelled against him.
The NYSC, however disowned the discharge certificate in possession of the embattled NSITF boss.
