Buhari returns to Abuja from UAE

President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja, the country’s capital, after a two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The President, and members of his entourage who traveled out of the country last Thursday, reached Abuja, around 4 pm.

The new President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received the Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari.

While in Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates, UAE, President Buhari met and conveyed Nigeria’s condolences on the passing of the former President of UAE, His Highness, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Buhari also, on Friday, joined the new President for Jummah prayers where prayers were said for the late President of UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

President Buhari also congratulated Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, the new President of the UAE, on his election.

He however expressed the optimism that under Sheikh Mohamed the two countries will continue to have better collaboration in the areas of security, counterterrorism, trade and investment, and sustainable and development.
