Buhari holds National Security Council meeting with stakeholders ahead of elections

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently conducting a National Security Council meeting at the State House in Abuja, ahead of the forthcoming presidential election scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

The security meeting came 2 days to the February 25 general elections which were to take place across Nigeria.

The security meeting was to examine the current security condition of the country and the crisis triggered by the cashless policy initiated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The attendees were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

Also at the meeting were the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno and the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.

Others at the meeting were the Minister of Defense, Major General Bashir Magashi (Rtd); Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi and the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, and the service chiefs were also present at the meeting.

Also at the meeting with the president were the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba Usman; the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, and the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Yusuf Bichi.
