Buhari arrives Katsina ahead of 2023 presidential election

President Muhammadu Buhari has landed in Daura, Katsina State for the forthcoming general elections scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

The Informant247 understands that Buhari got to the Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua Airport, Katsina today, around 5pm.

The Nigerian leader is to move to Daura, his home town to vote in the forthcoming presidential and national assembly’s elections that will hold this weekend.

Buhari had before leaving Abuja, conducted a National Security Council meeting at the State House in Abuja, ahead of the elections.

The security meeting was to examine the current security condition of the country and the crisis triggered by the cashless policy initiated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Also, the president on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 met with the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmoud Yakub, ahead of the much anticipated presidential elections scheduled for February 25, 2023.

Report has it that the INEC boss met the Nigerian leader at the presidential villa in Abuja.

The president said the meeting was done to ensure the successful conduct of the elections.

The president acknowledged that concerned stakeholders need to do everything necessary to achieve a successful election, Saturday February 25, 2023.

The president was at the International Conference Centre Abuja, on Wednesday, as candidates in the 2023 presidential election were signing a peace accord.
