Breaking: Kale Kawu visits Emir of Ilorin, declares intention to contest Kwara governorship

A retired Executive Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, Engineer Suleiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka, has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.

Kawu, who holds the traditional title of Dan Iyan of the Ilorin Emirate, made the declaration on Monday during a courtesy visit to the Emir of Ilorin.

According to him, the visit was to seek the Emir’s approval, prayers, and blessings ahead of his ambition to vie for the state’s top political office in 2027.

In his response, the Emir of Ilorin commended the traditional title holder, noting that if more individuals of his calibre were involved in politics, poverty would be significantly reduced.

The Emir further prayed for Kawu’s success in his political aspiration.
