Breaking: IEDPU meets Mudirul Markaz over feud with mufty Onikijipa
The leadership of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has stepped in to address the growing feud between Sheikh Habeeb Adam Al-Ilori, Mudir of the Markaz Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies in Agege, Lagos, and Sheikh Sulaimon Farooq Onikijipa, the Mufti of Ilorin.
In an effort to mediate, key executives of the IEDPU reportedly met with Sheikh Habeeb Adam Al-Ilori to discuss the ongoing dispute, which has caused serious divisions within the wider Islamic community.
The feud between the two clerics—both of whom studied under the late Sheikh Adam Al-Ilori and share a Markazee background—has become public, with both sides making accusations against each other.
The power struggle has not only strained relationships among their followers but has also raised concerns among Islamic scholars and community leaders.
Sources within the IEDPU say the union is working to bring both clerics to the discussion table to resolve their differences peacefully.
