BREAKING: Dembele wins 2025 Ballon d’Or
Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele has clinched the 2025 Ballon d’Or, the first of his career, after a remarkable season that powered PSG to a historic treble.
The 28-year-old French winger scored 35 goals and registered 14 assists in 53 appearances last season, inspiring the club to their maiden UEFA Champions League triumph, alongside Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles.
Dembele also finished as joint top scorer in Ligue 1 with 21 goals and was voted Player of the Year in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
He edged Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, who came second and received the prestigious Kopa Trophy for Best Young Player.
PSG teammate Vitinha placed third, while Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer finished fourth and eighth, respectively.
Defending champion Rodri of Manchester City was absent from the shortlist after struggling with injuries.
An emotional Dembele, who is currently sidelined by injury, attended the Paris ceremony and broke down in tears as he lifted the trophy, even as PSG faced Marseille the same evening.
