Breaking: Buhari extends NSCDC boss tenure

President Muhammadu Buhari has assented to reappointment of the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana, for another 5-year tenure.

Gana made this announcement on Thursday while receiving a surprise fifth-year anniversary packages, gifts and cards from personnel at the NSCDC Headquarters, Abuja.

According to a statement issued by CDPRO, DCC Okeh Emmanuel, President Buhari, through the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, greenlighted the Gana’s tenure elongation for another five years.

He noted, “The CG in appreciation of the gesture from the personnel revealed that Mr. President Muhammadu Buhari, through the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has extended his tenure after successful five years tenure in office.

“He prayed that God will use the extension to bless and move the Corps forward, while further encouraging the personnel to continue praying for the Corps within this period of tenure elongation and all hands must be on deck to move the organisation to the next level”.

The NSCDC boss vowed to boost the professional spirit of personnel and work ethics of the Corps without record of bad legacy.

Gana gave assurance that the welfare packages and condition of service of NSCDC personnel will be improved upon as plans are in the hoofing to float Agro rangers programme which he said, would better the lots of the personnel.
