Anthony Joshua has marked his return to action with a unanimous decision victory over Jermaine Franklin in Saturday night bout.
After a round of 12 fights, the judges scored it 118-111, 117-111, 117-111 in favour of the former two-time world champion.
Joshua was hunting for his first win since 2020 After suffering two consecutive defeats to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
On the other side, it was tough bout where America’s Franklin was determined to secure his 25th career win.
Characterised by the usual jabs throwing and punches, both fighters threw in their best in the fight that would later see the Nigerian-british boxer claimed the bragging right at the O2 Arena in London.
The victory however signals a new dawn for Joshua who would now look forward to more bouts in his quest to regain back his exalted belt.
