Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna declared alternative to Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport
The Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna has officially been designated as the alternative airport to the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport.
This announcement was made by Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo during the inaugural flight of Overland Airways from the new airport. Keyamo emphasized that the airport possesses the necessary features, including an impressive runway, adequate ambience, and a strategic location that align with international standards.
“The runway is capable of accommodating large aircraft such as a 747 and a Triple Seven. It remains a mystery why this airport has not been utilized to its full potential over the years,” Keyamo remarked.
He affirmed the government’s commitment to the airport’s development, stating, “Our eyes are on this airport. By the powers conferred in me, I declare Minna airport as the alternative to Abuja Airport. NCA, FAAN, take note.”
