Boko Haram abducts many, burn vehicles on Kaduna road

Suspected members of Boko Haram group have kidnapped many travellers and set eight vehicles on fire on Birnin Gwari-Kaduna Road.

A source revealed that the members of the terror group also barricaded a convoy of vehicles with security escorts during the incident, which happened on Tuesday.

It was gathered that the attack was not the first, the second and not even the third in days.

The spokesperson for the police in the state, Muhammad Jalige said he would need to first “contact the Area Commander in charge of the area” before he would be able to say anything to newsmen about the incident. correspondent.

The Chairman of Birnin-Gwari Vanguard, Ibrahim Abubakar Nagwari, via a statement said the incident occurred between Kuriga and Manini near Udawa.

“It is evidently clear that bandits and Ansaru (Boko Haram) have declared total war on our people, yet the political will by the authorities to honour their oaths of office to protect lives and property of our citizens remains a mirage.

“On Tuesday, terrorists along Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna Highway intercepted a convoy of motorists with security escorts. In the last four days terrorists laid siege on motorists on Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna Highway.

“Today, eight vehicles were set ablaze by the terrorists, while a number of innocent commuters, mostly women and children, were taken into the bush by the terrorists,” Nagwari said.
