Bobrisky jets out of Nigeria days after leaving EFCC custody
Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, the controversial cross-dresser, has reportedly jetted out of Nigeria a few days after he was released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The Informant247 gathered that although the popular crossdresser did not reveal his destination, in a series of videos shared on his Instagram story on Monday morning, he stated that he was travelling on a first-class ticket.
He wrote, “See you soon, Nigeria. This girl bought a first-class ticket three times; that’s over 30 million. Raise the bar for this girl,”
He humorously remarked on the disfigurement of his passport photo, saying, “That passport disfigured my picture.”
Bobrisky’s departure comes on the heels of a series of events that unfolded last week.
The Informant247 had earlier reported how the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) re-arrested Bobrisky at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos on Thursday night.
Bobrisky was taken into custody while attempting to board a flight to London, only days after being granted bail by the Nigerian Police.
Nigerian authorities halted a KLM flight Bobrisky had boarded and escorted him off the plane with immigration police.
Reports indicate he resisted the airport security operatives who came to remove him from the flight.
In a post on Instagram, Bobrisky claimed he was severely injured during the incident.
He wrote, “Nigerians, help me, EFCC just arrested me, I’m badly injured.”
Bobrisky still under investigation – EFCC confirms
In a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, represented by Director of Public Affairs Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Bobrisky remains under investigation.
EFCC also addressed concerns over potential corruption within the agency after allegations surfaced of bribery in exchange for dropping money laundering charges against the cross-dresser.
Uwujaren stated, “Regarding the investigation into the allegations by Bobrisky and VeryDarkman, we are committed to a thorough investigative process. If any misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions will follow. I’ve seen law enforcement personnel held accountable for professional misconduct in my years here.”
