Birthday: Santana celebrates Dr. Alimi AbdulRasaq: A father, benefactor, and icon of service

Alhaji Abdullateef Adediran Sulaiman, popularly known as Santana, has joined other dignitaries and admirers across Nigeria in celebrating the birthday of Dr. Alimi AbdulRasaq, the Mutawalle of Ilorin Emirate, hailing him as an embodiment of selfless leadership, nobility, and public service.

In a deeply personal tribute, Santana—who served as a close aide to Dr. AbdulRasaq during his time as Chairman of the Itakpe Iron Ore Project in the early 1990s—recalled the invaluable lessons he learned under the elder statesman’s leadership.

“Working with Dr. Alimi was a life-changing experience. He demanded excellence, yet led with humility and kindness,” he said.

Describing the celebrant as “a boss, a father, and a benefactor,” Santana praised Dr. AbdulRasaq’s unwavering commitment to the Ilorin Emirate and Nigeria at large. He noted that the legacy of the Mutawalle transcends official titles—reflected instead in the lives he has touched, the institutions he has helped shape, and the values he upholds.

He concluded with a prayer: “May Allah bless Dr. Alimi with many more years in good health and wisdom. His life continues to inspire and uplift those who cross his path.”
