Barcelona turn down United £89M bid for starlet

Manchester United have dealt a huge blow in a shock attempt to acquire the service Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati.

According to a credible Spanish publication, Sport is reporting that United made a shock £89m bid for Fati, a deal which was engineered by star-agent, Jorge Mendes, but the offer was refused by Barcelona chiefs.

Manchester United has identified Fati as an alternative to 100 million rated Borussia Dortmund’s speed-king, Jadon Sancho.

The Old Trafford based outfit have set their covetous eyes on the young star in a bid to shore up the strength of the club’s midfield, after just acquiring Portuguese Bruno Fernandes from Benfica in the January transfer window.

Securing the signature of the sought-after Barcelona midfielder will make United a formidable foe and a front line contender for the English Premier League title.
