Barcelona and Lionel Messi may be forced to resort to legal actions in order to resolve the contractual disagreement revolving the number 10’s persistent request to exit the Catalunya-based Football outfit for any club on a free transfer during Summer Transfer Windom at his wish.
The clause was reported to have been proposed by Messi when he signed his current deal.
According to what Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol told The Transfer Show: “I think this is going to end up in a courtroom in Barcelona with Messi trying to force his way out of the club and saying ‘I can leave on a free transfer’ and Barcelona saying ‘no, look at your contract, we demand €700m before you can leave’.”
Dharmesh Sheth on Sky Sports News also added: “If that’s the case, it’s going to be an awful parting of the ways for one of the most pleasing marriages in football – Messi and Barcelona. Imagine if it ends up in court, it would be an awful way to finish.”
According to a verified Manchester City twitter account, the club has reached a personal term with the Catalan forward ahead of the transfer.
Recall that The Informant247 recently reported that the Catalan star was his tipping his former striking partner, Neymar Jr. to join him at Manchester City.
Reports also have it that Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United may also be interested in the Argentine forward’s signature.
