Bandits abduct Customs officer, eight others in Zaria

No fewer than 10 persons, including a Customs officer, Muawiyya Gambo Turaki, his son Khalifa were kidnapped by bandits during a fresh attack on Kofar Gayan low-cost housing estate in Zaria, Kaduna State.

The Informant247 gathered that the bandits invaded the area around 9.00 pm on Wednesday.

This is the second time Kofar Gayan will be coming under attack in the last six months.

Though Kaduna Police spokesman, ASP Muhammad Jalige, when contacted by newsmen said he needed to get in touch with the Zaria Area command for details of the incident.

The village head of the area, Muhammadu Nazifi, said, “Those kidnapped include his son, Jamalu, Muawiyya Gambo Turaki, a customs officer, who arrived home from his duty post just yesterday and his son Khalifa.

“They also kidnapped a woman, Jamila Usman and another boy also called Khalifah. However, about four of them later escaped and returned home.”
