Armed robbers attack Elkanemi Warriors team on return from away match

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri were on friday attacked by Armed robbers on their way back from Lagos after their matchweek 14 clash against Ikorodu City FC on Wednesday.

According to a statement credited to the club, the officials and players of the team were ambushed by armed robbers on the Jos-Bauchi road Friday night.

Even as no life was lost, several players were reported to have sustained different degree of injuries, and personal belongings were stolen.

The team recorded a 2-0 loss to Ikorodu City in their last game and are due for matchday 15 clash against Bayelsa United in Maiduguri on Sunday.

The team is currently 4th on the log with 22 points after 14 games.
