Aregbesola to ADC supporters: Engage APC with facts not insults

Rauf Aregbesola, former Interior Minister and interim national secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has issued a strong statement advising party members to avoid insults and attacks on supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This comes after the ADC’s formal launch in Abuja, where the newly formed coalition is preparing to challenge the Tinubu administration in the upcoming 2027 elections.

Upon returning to Lagos, Aregbesola took to social media to thank supporters who welcomed him, emphasizing the need for dignified political engagement. “The task before us is immense, and we do not need to fight, insult, or attack anyone,” he asserted.

Aregbesola encouraged ADC members to maintain a focus on pressing national issues rather than resorting to personal attacks. “When others resort to abuse or name-calling, we must rise above it,” he stated.

He urged them to pose a critical question to opponents: “Are Nigerians better off today than they were before?” He highlighted the importance of discussing facts related to food inflation, economic challenges, and the increasing cost of living that affects millions.

“Let our debates remain focused on the issues that matter,” Aregbesola emphasized, as he called for ADC supporters to clearly articulate their vision for the country and explain why the ADC represents a credible alternative for Nigeria’s progress and sustainability.
