Appeal court pending cases hit 1000 – Report

The Court of Appeal has announced during the 2021/2022 legal year report that it cumulatively dispensed 609 cases.

The report explained that out of 609 cases dispensed, 157 cases were upheld while 452 cases were dismissed.

The report furthered that it carried forward into 2023, 865 pending appeals, saying out of this figure, 760 are civil cases, 25 belong to the Fundamental Human Rights Category and 71 are criminal cases.

However, finding reveal that 2245 pending motions have spilt over the new year.
