APC labels Peter Obi as ‘Nigeria’s prophet of doom’ over new year message

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, over his New Year message, accusing him of painting a negative picture of Nigeria’s future.

In a statement, the APC described Obi’s claims that Nigeria’s political, economic, and security situations are worsening as misleading and politically driven.

“While Nigerians entered the New Year with hope for a brighter 2025, Peter Obi remains stuck in a cycle of negativity, presenting a gloomy wishlist for the country,” the statement said.

The APC added that Obi’s remarks ignore progress being made in various sectors, labelling him as “Nigeria’s leading prophet of doom.”
