The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms by 4 days.
The previous deadline for the purchase of forms by aspirants was Friday.
The spokesperson of the ruling party, Barrister Felix Morka via a statement on Wednesday, announced the extension of the exercise.
According to him, the exercise has been extended to Tuesday.
As issued by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, the deadline for the submission of completed forms and attaching documents is now slated for May 11, 2022.
The statement stated that congresses to elect local government area (LGA), state and national delegates will take place from Thursday, 12th May to Saturday, 14th May, 2022.
The ruling APC has continued to receive more political aspirants showing interest in the coming primaries, most especially in the position of the president.
Three political actors declared intentions to struggle for the party’s presidential ticket, on Wednesday alone.
They are Kayode Fayemi, Governor of Ekiti State; Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta; and Adams Oshiomhole, former National Chairman of the party.
While reacting to the development, a leading presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, said it’s good for democracy.
“The more the merrier. The more they come, the more challenging it becomes for you to think deeply, focus on issues and be ready to serve and Nigeria. It’s all about service, it’s nothing else. Think wisely, get committed to your thinking to serve the nation and bring progress and prosperity to the lives of Nigerians,” Tinubu, an APC Presidential aspirant, had told reporters.
