The All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, on Saturday, conducted ward congress to elect new executives in Magaji Ngeri ward, Ilorin West Local Government Area.
The congress which was conducted at the Baptist L.G.E.A school, Surulere, witnessed a large turnout of party members.
At the event, a former Chairman of Ilorin West LG, Mr. Sai Kai coordinated the congress, introducing the INEC officials present to observe the congress.
He urged all the party members to be calm and law-abiding, adding that everyone has the right to vote for the candidates of his choice.
Sai Kai called out the ward Chairman candidates, Muritala Olaitan popularly known as Kokorin, and Muritala Ibrahim popularly known as Oforo.
The result of the ward congress election pronounced Muritala Olaitan as the Magaji Ngeri ward Chairman.
Others that emerged as party executives are Abubakar Yusuf as the Secretary, Lawal Bashiru Oloolu as the youth leader, Bukola Galadima as the Women leader, among others.
According to the list presented by the INEC officials, about 1,700,000 delegates were expected at the congress but only 281 delegates were accredited.
Although, some aggrieved APC party members had, before the start of the congress, left the venue without waiting for the accreditation exercise.
