APC celebrates ‘resounding testament’ of trust in Kaduna by-elections victories
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State has characterized its sweeping victories in the August 16 by-elections as a “resounding testament” to the people’s trust in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Uba Sani’s inclusive governance.
In a formal statement, the party congratulated Hon. Fidelix Joseph Bagudu, who won the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency seat; Hon. Isa Haruna Muhammed, who secured the Zaria Kewaye State Constituency; and Hon. Dahiru Umar-Sani, who won the Basawa State Constituency. They referred to the victories as historic and symbolic triumphs.
Yahaya Baba Pate, Secretary of the Kaduna APC, remarked that these wins were not merely electoral achievements but clear endorsements of the progressive values held by the ruling party at both federal and state levels.
He noted that the victory in Chikun/Kajuru—a constituency long seen as a stronghold for the opposition—underscores the transformative leadership of Governor Uba Sani and the increasing confidence the public has in his governance style.
“Governor Uba Sani’s tenure has been marked by strides in security, rural infrastructure, and human capital development. His inclusive and detribalised approach has brought historically marginalised voices to the centre of governance,” Pate stated.
He assured the electorate that the newly elected lawmakers would honor the public’s trust by providing responsive, transparent, and purposeful representation, acting as ambassadors for their constituencies and the shared aspirations of Kaduna residents.
Pate further emphasized that with President Tinubu leading at the national level and Governor Uba Sani at the helm in Kaduna, both the state and the nation are on a firm path toward peace, prosperity, and inclusive growth.
Bagudu, who triumphantly claimed the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency seat with 34,580 votes, expressed his gratitude, describing his victory as the handiwork of God and the collective will of the people.
In his thank-you message, Bagudu acknowledged Governor Uba Sani for his unwavering support, referring to him as “a father and leader” whose encouragement transformed a potentially challenging campaign into a journey of confidence.
He extended his thanks to Kaduna commissioners, local government chairmen, and members of the election committees for their dedication to the party’s success and especially recognized the Gbagyi, Adara, Kabilu, and Hausa-Fulani communities for their overwhelming support.
Bagudu pledged to represent all voices in his constituency inclusively and encouraged collaboration among all political contenders.
“To my brothers who contested this election, I call on you to join hands with me so that together we can build a strong, united, and virile federal constituency. It is time to move Chikun and Kajuru forward,” Bagudu asserted.
He concluded with a rallying message: “Together we won. Together, let us fix it. Together, let us rise.”
