Amotekun arrest notorious child rapist in Osun
The men of the Western Security Network Agency, Amotekun in Osun State, have arrested a man, Yisa Aderibigbe, over alleged rape of 2 minors in Osogbo, the capital of the state.
The Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, confirmed the arrest of the suspected rapist.
Adewinmbi said the suspect was apprehended, Thursday, January 26, 2023 following a notification received from those residing in the area where he carried out the act.
He said the suspect lured the 2 minors aged 5 and 7 to an uncompleted building and had carnal knowledge of them.
The corps commander also revealed that investigation indicated that the suspect was a notorious for carrying out the offence.
“Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime.
“I want to thank the residents of the area, who informed us about the incident. I want to appreciate them for their support,” he said in the statement.
He added that the suspect had been handed over to the police for necessary interrogation and prosecution.
He said the corps would continue to collaborate with other security formations to combat crime in the state.
