Amaju Pinnick speaks highly of new Super Eagles coach, Jose Paseiro

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reportedly talked highly of the new Super Eagles Coach, Jose Paseiro.
The Portuguese is expected to arrive in Nigeria soon to formalise his appointment and contracts.
According to NFF, the former Venezuela National team Head Coach will be an observer in the upcoming AFCON in Cameroon and will resume work after the mundial.
Pinnick believes that the Portuguese who was reportedly recommended by his fellow countryman, Jose Mourinho will do the country proud when he takes on the mantle.
“If you look at Peserio, when I was talking to him, he was talking as if he has been coaching the Super Eagles for a long time. He said.
The NFF President noted that the gaffer specifically talked about the Super Eagles and Croatia game in the 2018 world cup, saying that Nigeria could have done better in the world cup given that the Eagles dominated the game.
“He said to me, ‘listen, Nigeria, you played against Croatia (at 2018 World Cup) in your World Cup opening match, they did not over dominate you. It was 45%/55% ball possession. And he said ‘Croatia eventually played in the final of the World Cup, it could have been Nigeria”
Talking about technology, Pinnick admitted how impressed he was when Paseiro used software to analyze the strength of the players.
“I got impressed. he brought the wyscout, a software to analyse the strength of our players. He gave me the analyses of everyone of our players scientifically. I was taking aback. When he spoke with the technical group, I was just an observer, we are all impressed.”
NFF had late last year sacked Gernot Rohr after 5 years in charge of the Super Eagles.
While many had advocated the need for a local Coach, NFF insisted on a foreign gaffer, hence the choice of the Portuguese
