Alia bans unauthorised visits of VIPs to Benue
The Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has warned against unauthorised visits by any high-profile guests to the state.
The governor, in a statement issued on Monday morning by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, disclosed that he is currently involved in critical high-level meetings with key stakeholders to address pressing issues affecting the state, while cautioning against any group or prominent individuals attempting to enter the state without prior clearance, especially if such visits could lead to politically charged gatherings.
The statement reads, “For anyone considering a visit to Benue State without the knowledge or approval of the Governor, it is important to reconsider, as their safety and security cannot be assured.”
The statement reminded the public that any individual or organisation intending to visit Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state must first obtain written approval from the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA).
The governor called on security agencies and the general public to take note of the announcement and continue to support the maintenance of peace and order throughout the state.
