The chairman, Ilorin Emirate transports service and Chairman, Kwara State transporters Association, Alhaji Salihu Idris Gambari is died.
The remains of the Chairman, who died in the early hours of Friday have been laid to rest after prayers led by the Imam Gambari of Ilorin, Sheikh Sulaiman AbdulAzeez.
He was buried at the his family compound shortly after the Zuhr prayer amidst outpouring of eulogies and tributes even as the funeral programme was attended by a huge crowd of dignitaries, prominent Islamic scholars and members of the Ilorin Community who thronged and densely populated the Ita-goma lane of Gambari area.
According to a close family source, the Chairman has been sick for a while before he finally passed away in the early hour of Friday, 13th of October, 2017 at his residence.
“He has been sick for sometimes now. It was the this morning (yesterday) that we observed changes in his breathing. We were just preparing to take him to the hospital before the doctor confirmed him dead. May Almighty Allah forgives him and grant him eternal rest!”
One of the mourners who spoke with THE INFORMANT247 correspodence noted that the demise has created a vacuum too big to be filled, afterward describing the deceased life as one worthy of emulations.
“The man is a very good man. His life is one worthy of emulations. May Almighty Allah forgives him” -He concluded.
” I can’t express my saddeness today. Every first day of Ramadan, he usually gives everybody here Guinea corn and beans. He is such a wonderful and nice person. We will miss him greatly. I pray Almighty Allah forgives Alhaji and grant him Al-Janat firdaous.”
The Imam Gambari while praying at the funeral said that the late chairman was kind to all evident in the great turnout of people who attended the burial, he prayed to God to forgives his shortcomings and thereafter urge people to live a very good life if they want such an ending of honour like him.
Also present at the Janazah prayer are the representative of the Emir of Ilorin, the first Makama of Ilorin, Alhaji Oniye, the Balogun Gambari of Ilorin, Alhaji Abdulrahman Yusuf Mayaki, and host of other dignitaries.
The fridau prayer will hold on Tuesday, 17th of October, 2017 at his family comp., in Gambari area of Ilorin.
