ALAGBADO COMMUNITY REJECTS CONSTRUCTION OF TEMPORARY PALLIATIVE BRIDGE.

The Alagbado Community has today rejects the construction of a palliative bridge in replace of the collapsed bridge.
The community who expressed their displeasure over the negligence of the government toward the situation chased away the contractors hired to construct a temporary bridge. The people explicit fear that the government may not heed to their calls again if they successfully construct a palliative bridge which is not needed at the moment.
THE INFORMANT247 correspodence who visited the scene could observe people of the community had to swim through the river to get from one side to the other end.
“We have been suffering for a longtime now. The bridge collapsed a day before the first Ramadan. Fatai came here once, and ever since then, we have not heard anything form the government again. This is pathetic. We are begging the government to please come to our aides. We have suffered enough.” -said a passerby.
Another Community dweller noted that the negligence of the government has cost the people of the community and Kwara state at large a lot of hardship being the only major road that leads to one of the state hospitals, Alagbado specialist hospital.
” This road is the only major road that leads to one of one of the state hospital, a lot of emergency cases have died because of this bridge. We are urging the state government to please do the needful on time. We cannot accept a temporary pedestrian bridge because with it, the government will not show any plight again once the are successful. We need a major bridge.” -He concluded.
Recall that the bridge at Alagbado area which linked major roads to the state specialist hospital collapsed some few months ago after an heavy rainfall. Since then, the people of Alagbado Community and road users have been calling on the state government to do the needful by constructing a new bridge so as to prevent any form of mishap and ensure the people of the community go on their day business without fear.
