Ajikobi PDP stakeholders endorse current executives for second term ahead of September 13 ward congress

Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward Congress scheduled for September 13, 2025, stakeholders of Ajikobi Central Ward in Ilorin West Local Government have unanimously endorsed the current ward executives, led by Comrade Abubakar Yusuf Garba (Sai Dogo), for a second term in office.

The endorsement, reached after extensive deliberations and consultations, was announced during a meeting that brought together elders, party leaders, and grassroots mobilizers in the ward — which is widely regarded as the political base of former Senate President and Waziri of Ilorin, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON).

According to the stakeholders, the decision aligns with the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which both allow leaders to seek a second term provided their performance, integrity, and service delivery meet the expectations of members.

The meeting evaluated key performance indicators including leadership competence, loyalty to the party and its ideals, commitment to unity, experience, age advantage, and proven electoral success. The stakeholders commended the executives for strengthening the PDP’s grassroots presence in Ajikobi Ward and delivering visible results in party administration and mobilization.

The resolution further charged Comrade Garba and his team to redouble their efforts to secure a resounding PDP victory in the ward and beyond during the 2027 general elections.

The meeting was attended by several notable figures including Dr. Ashiat Ayinke Saka, Hon. Abdulkadir Issa, Alhaji Sanusi Tunde Buganna, Alhaji Abdullah Mustapha, Hon. Taiye Banu Eleja, Hon. Abdulmumeen Olomigbonna, Barr. Sikiru Sholagberu, and many other respected party leaders.

The decision, the stakeholders emphasized, was made in the collective interest of strengthening the PDP’s foothold in Ilorin West and ensuring effective representation at the grassroots level.
