The Osun State House of Assembly on Friday, received the list of nominees of commissioners and special advisers from governor Ademola Adeleke.
The speaker of the Osun assembly, Adewale Egbedun read the governor’s letter containing the names, during plenary.
An ad-hoc committee chairwd by the deputy speaker, Akinyode Oyewusi, was established to screen the nominees and send their names for confirmation.
The speaker said, “I hereby wish to announce to this house and distinguished honourable colleagues that the deputy speaker, Rt. Hon. Oyewusi, will chair the house committee on the review of commissioner/special adviser nominees sent by H.E. Sen. Ademola Adeleke.”
“The committee is formed to critically screen commissioners and special advisers nominees of Osun state.
“Each nominee must come with 35 copies of their curriculum vitae and declare their assets.”
Governor Ademola Adeleke, was on November 27, 2022, sworn in as Osun State governor of the state after securing 403,371 votes to deafeat his closest rival, Gboyega Oyetola, then incumbent governor, who polled 375,027 votes.
However, seven after his inauguration as the governor, Adeleke forwarded names of commissioners and special advisers to state assemblyfor confirmation, whereby two members of former governor Rauf Aregbesola’s cabinet— Kolapo Alimi and Biyi Odunlade — made the list.
Alimi served as the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, while Odunlade was commissioner for sports and youth.
The nominees include; Oladosu Babatunde, Bayo Ogungbangbe, Sesan Epharaim Oyedele, Kolapo Alimi, Soji Ajeigbe, Moshood Olalekan Olagunju, George Alabi, Sunday Olufemi Oroniyi, Abiodun Bankole Ojo, Basiru Tokunbo Salami, Morufu Ayofe, Sola Ogungbile, Bunmi Jenyo, Ayo Awolowo, Wole Jimi Bada.
Others include; Dipo Eluwole, Rasheed Aderibigbe, Morufu Ademola Adeleke, Adeyemo Festus Ademola, Olabiyi Anthony Odunlade, Jola Akintola, Mayowa Adejorin, Adenike Folashade Adeleke, Tola Faseru, Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa.
