Address indiscriminate erection of billboards, signpost, NSCDC tells KWASSA

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC,has kicked against the indiscriminate erection of billboards and signpost in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, urging the Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency to address the issue.

The NSCDC boss, Iskil Ayinla Makinde disclosed this when the Chairman of the Agency, Alhaji Uthman Abubakar Mora, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Ilorin.

He said they are working day and night to identify hideouts of miscreants and men of the underworld in order to dislodge and bring them to book.

Commandant Makinde, who expressed reservation over the lackadaisical attitude of some individuals to revenue payment, promising that the security agency will do its best within the confines of the law to assist the revenue agency.

“The NSCDC will support Kwara state Signage and Advertisement Agency to effectively carry out its constitutional duty of generating revenue for the state,” Makinde promised.

In his remark, the KWASAA chairman solicited the support of the security agency to enable the agency to carry out its lawful duty across the state.

Mora stressed the need for the signage agency to generate revenue for the state government to carry out more developmental projects.

He also maintained the need for the presence of security personnel in the course of erecting billboards and placement of flets to guide against attacks and harassment.
